Britton Timbers is one of the largest importers of sustainably-produced hardwoods and the preferred source for premium Tasmanian timber. Stocking over 50 species of timber sourced from around the globe, Britton's has distribution centres in Tasmania, Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane, and distributes timber internationally through Britton Timbers International.
The owners saw the business' electricity rates triple across their energy contracts, with the network costs occupying up to 50% of the electricity bill.
Given this business is focussed on sustainability, the operators were clean to explore solar as a means to reduce their costs and environmental footprint.
